Hey guys,

Recently purchased 1080 TI FTW3 and just wondering what "Power target" & "Temp target" are stands for.
By default it's 100%/85. In this case I got 66-70C ingame experience with aggresive fans' curves in automatic mode.
OK. But yesterday I made an experiment - put it on 55%/68C. My temps lowered by 11-15 degrees with FPS remaining on the same level.
P.S. I won't overclock it in the nearest future. Should I stick to those values?

It's used to let the card use more power and reach higher temperatures than stock in order to have better clocks. Lowering it, has the opposite effect.

What game did you test it on and was Vsync enabled ? In short Powe Target is how much is the card allowed to draw in% of it's TDP, so if your TDP is 250W and you set the target at 50% your card draws ~ 125W. The second is the max. temperature your card will run at and boost it's clocks to the factory defaults, over that temperature the card will redue it's frequency to keep the temperature at or under that value.

You're likely CPU bound in that scenario, run at 4K on something like that and you will notice a difference.

Should I stick to those values?

Actually, I'd increase both power and temperature to their maximum.
