Has anyone played Evolve? Seems like a lot of fun for team based strategy like L4D (same creators). It is $60 though which seems really steep for a game like that.

 
I was in a few of the beta weekends, and enjoyed it. It's a 5-man show, 4 vs 1, and you really have to have it together as humans, or you're gonna get beaten every time. You can have one guy not quite up to par, and maybe make it ok, but if he's really crappy, or more than one are sub par, you're dead unless the monster is a moron.
 
Have been following this game closely. Would really like to hear some first hand experience because I really need a new coop game.

Why do you care Easy? All you will do is play for an hour and rage quit on TS.

I started it but wow, 30min is to long. I got that it is lacking content and the dlc is lame. However the hunting game play is very fun although it can get repetitive.
 
after looking at the videos it honestly seems like a $20 steam game that is more like a l4d mod than anything...
 
If the game was $25 then I might buy it. Until then I can sit on L4D2 if I want co-op like that.
 
I was very interested in it, alpha was good, etc. However all this DLC shenanigans they pulled, they can stuff it. Not buying into that shit (at full price). I'll wait until it gets to $10 or so. Talking about 'we have to sell this DLC to feed the families of people that worked on this game' Get the hell out of here with that sob story bull. L4D was a masterpiece but this game can suck it, and they better not touch L4D3 with this crap if they ever release it.
 
it seems i am in agreement with everyone here. $60 is just too much for a game like this and the DLC nonsense is a real turnoff. Well, once it hits $20 I will buy it and then maybe we can get a group together on TS to play.

WTF is Joe high on? He starts out spot on, then mentions it's not worth it for solo, which is true. But then he goes on to say the AI is brilliant, which it's not. When playing solo as the monster, it's FAR easier than playing as one of the hunters. Chances are when playing as hunter a wraith of level 2 or 3 will wipe out your team. The only time it feels balanced is when there are 5 skilled players involved, which is rare.

This game is nothing but a simple run around hunt mode and cosmetic DLC cash grab, and the graphics are so overrated it's pathetic. It's one of the worst implementations of CryENGINE 3 I've ever seen.

The high ratings are quite suspicious.
