https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gig...triple-m2-2-way-sli-3-way-crossfire-wifi-usb3.

I notice there is an extra 4 pin tax connector beside the 8 pin one I cannot find a lead for it is it needed.

This is here system,

That looks like a P4 connector, the other looks like an EPS 12 volt

Do l need it.

God damn why do you need a 250 Pound board

There is not one with the power supply

Upgrade to bigger psu, of course you could try running without it, run p95 and a gpu test like furmark at the same time.

Do not suggest furmark

Do not suggest I do not suggest furmark. It is a gpu stress test and for a system stability check it is more than adequate.
Furmark can brick cards if the user is not careful enough.

Oh jesus...

1.) You don't need a bigger PSU for that build.
2.) The 4-pin is completely optional and is used for extreme overclocing.
3.) Furmark hasn't been a good GPU stress test in years. The GPU drivers detect it as a power virus and lower clocks and power limit when it is run. Meaning the GPU is never actually stressed, defeating the point of a stress test. Use loops of Heaven or Superposition.

The manual says you need a 500w power connection to the board, or it may not work.

IDK if you really need that, but at 7A/pin, 4 pins are 336W, and 6 pins are 504W, so that goes with the manual, in that you need both connectors connected to support what they say you need.

I's Guess that's for overclocking, but IDK.

If your CPU needs more than 336W, use both.

If it works without it, and crashes when you try to OC, that's your problem.

Forget about the optional 4 pin, you're never gonna come even close to maxing out the 8 pin with an 8600K.. If you're pushing a 9900K under liquid nitrogen, then yeah, maybe.

The power supply you already have is absolutely fine, no need to upgrade. 550W is PLENTY for an 8600K + GTX1060.

I suspected his granddaughter is der8auer.

In some rare cases this optional connector maybe mandatory, at least my Supermicro C2SBX will not power on with only one plugged in.
