Failed [cannot access due to damage happened on] HDD, SSD, USB Sticks, etc. Storage Devices, internal and external

How are recycled...?

Without the risk, some hacker guy may retrieve personal info or passwords... from them?

Hammer time! As in, smash the bits with hammers, including the platters for harddrives. But realistically, given the amount of e-waste in the world there is no worry unless you are a high value target. In any case I recommend disassembling the HDD's and keeping the magnets, they are great.

I use a drill for HDDs but yes hammers for flash

I have alternate uses for old HDD's, they are a heavy very strong structured brick type device which I have found uses for around my home.

I've got 4 HDDs holding up my soundbar on my desk and one for the cat food dispenser. Super useful!

Drill some holes in your HDD and a good hammer will do the rest... :nutkick:

If you want some Fireworks, in the Microwave... Happy cooking!

With SSD-s smash the NAND flash chips with a hammer,
In case of HDD-s disassemble it, and smash up platters.
It is very important to take care of the e-waste and don't dispose it into your regular garbage.
And @Frick is right, neodymium magnets are fun, but be really careful with then, even if you have two eyes, better keep both :toast:
