I've looked around if it's maybe possible to turn some kind of dark mode on in file explorer. All sites I found say you do it the same way as the rest of Windows, so under the colour section in settings. However, I've already had that dark mode selected there, yet file explorer hasn't changed. I tried turning it on and off and still nothing. Does anyone know why I can't get it to work?

is your windows up to date/latest build?
cmiiw, I vaguely remember explorer darkmode come much later than windows darkmode..

Yes it's all up to date.

The Dark Mode setting is for Windows Apps only, not desktop programs like File Explorer.

However, in Windows 10 version 1809 it was made so the dark theme applies to File Explorer as well. So make sure you are running version 1809. Note that Windows might say you are up to date on updates but not update you to 1809, they are very slowly rolling 1809 out to people, and the update might not have been made available to you yet. You can install the 1809 update manually though.
