Hey,
I am trying to make a similar system as well, but I can tell u its def. not going to cost that much for me.
If you are looking to save some money I can help out a lil. (My prices are in US $s)
CPU: The X2 3800+ now can be found for $295 anywhere (newegg, zipzoomfly).

RAM: To save some money on the RAM you might want to look at the OCZ Platinum 2x1gb modules (currently at newegg for $175 AR, just went up a few bucks today) or you could get the Corsair XMS 2x1GB modules for $175 as well at newegg AR.

Motherboard: The only reason I am not going crossfire/SLI bc a lot of games do not currently support it and the most boost I have seen is 10 percent (which isnt very noticable). Some games perform even worse with these setups. So unless you are going for the 2 best cards out in the market I suggest saving some money and dont even bother. Take a look at these ASUS A8N5X, MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, or the Abit KN8. Each of them are around $80-95.

Graphic Card:The best GPU buy used to be the 6800GS, but now newegg has lowered the price of the x850xt to $169AR. Its a Sapphire x850xt which is a great price. I suggest you get that one or you wait until after Cebit since the 7900 will come out and Nvidia cards should take a dip. You could also wait for the 7900GT which is supposedly faster than a 7800gtx and only costs $300.

CPU Cooler: I have heard that the Thermaltake Big Typhoon is one of the best on the market. Take a look at that. I think it only costs about $40.

PSU: I personally prefer the OCZ Powerstream or Antec TruePower. They areboth very reliable. around $100-125

Why not go for the floppy...They dont really cost any money and might as well have one just in case.

Could you post your exact system specs and price?

on the X850XT, theres a MUCH better deal...

the case? dude, you don't need a Lian-li case! thats like 300 bucks! go with a classy thermaltake case, like the soprano, you wont be dissapointed.
lol the CPU cooler needs an upgrade, go with an Arctic Freezer. Easy install, great performance, very quiet.
Also consider ATIsilencer5 for your X850XT...stock cooler is LOUD.
X-fi? dude you wont even NOTICE the kinda stuff that renders. go with audigy and save a couple bucks.
and you dont need an SLI motherboard for an ATI setup...go with a cheaper single card solution, or if you want dual graphics for the future, go crossfire.
Power supply? save some more money and get an Antec SP-500. Plenty of power.
DEFINITELY need floppy if you're going with SATA2
if you really need 2 gigs, sure go with that RAM, its good.
And the processor looks fine to me, overclock it a little if you want :D
