Finally getting an upgrade for my pc with DDR2 and a Q6700 to go with the R9 280 I got last year. What do you guys think? Just for gaming so far.

MSI gaming 5 z97 motherboard.

Intel Core I5 4690k

8 gb of hyperx fury red ddr3

Not very open about the timings on the memory are you? That i5 and board is good as an upgrade.

Well I thought I heard that the faster speed won't make much difference.

I've found that different clocks make for price differences. My 1866 was cheaper than 1600. Saving a few dollars helps.

I already ordered the parts. I couldn't contain my excitement Haha.

Oop.

Well enjoy your build then. Just make sure you'll get a decent cooler if you're overclocking. Intel stock coolers aren't the greatest when they're made for bare minimum.

I will once I get some more money. Planning on getting the entho pro case a new power supply and a ssd next.

850 EVO is a nice SSD, and the DeepCool Lucifer is also a nice cooler as I personally use both. Though the Lucifer is MASSIVE.
