How to get them, & what "older/legacy" ones still work?

Is there still "Pipelining" or not? How about the "FireTune" program (which automates doing performance gain tweaking on FireFox or used to @ least)??

:)

* Talk to me FireFox fiends... thanks!

APK

P.S.=> I know how to move the default browser cache to my Solid-State Ramdisk via prefs.js & FireFox.js entries, but I remember older FireFox versions I had used as having TONS of potentially performance enhancing settings... & since you guys are current FireFox fans? Let me know of any... tia! apk

get FireTune for Firefox 2 right here :toast:

Thank you... figured this MIGHT be the "ticket" to ride, to make it as simple/easy as is possible!

:)

APK

P.S.=> Well, applied it, and yes... it does make a diff. (not "HUGE" but perceptible)... apk

btw, "about:config" still works... lots of stuff to tweak "manually" ...

Yea, it does... I change my diskcache location to my Solid-State ramdisk drive immediately for ALL browsers... helps for seek/reaccess of cached files, due to its massively fast seek times!

Oh, (editing), IF you know of other effective ones this program does not cover/automate? Please, by all means, let 'em rip!

* Thanks again!

APK

if you want to make it "on foot", read on here:

Link

also, there is a nice extension called "Fasterfox".... unfortunately 1.5.0.* only atm....

p.s. i must admit that a ssd drive would be a nice thing to have...

EDIT: finally figured out a working link....

Got a bad link on that... but, it's the thought that counts!

:)

* When/if you get a chance? Amend it... I'll definitely take a peek!

APK

P.S.=> Avoiding extensions actually, they slowed me up last time around w/ firefox... too many, but you HAVE TO TRY THEM FIRST, to know what they do... & well, the rest is common-sense (I overloaded it imo)... apk

What do the tweaks do ?( FireTune for Firefox 2 )

@judas:

do you know "about:config"? type that into your adress bar and hit enter, and you get a whole bunch of hidden options.... most of them are set to "compatibility mode", but you´re free to change everything (better back up your user settings first... ;)

firetune could be called a gui for about:config, modifying several options at a time and gives some explanation.... and the author claims that all tweaks are tested and approved by "experts" :respect:
