Hi mate,

You should always update your firmware for your SSD disk.

I did it yesterday in order to post in the "how fast is your SSD" post.

I gained nearly 100Mb faster read/write speed.

When the drives arrived, I read on the Internet, that they are very bad before the upgrades.

Try to always upgrade your drives if possible.

It seems to be a rather important update:

Changes between version 0309 and 000F include the following changes:

Improved compatibility with certain SAS expanders and peripheral RAID cards.
Improved throughput stability under extremely heavy workloads.
Improved data protection in the event of unexpected, asynchronous power loss.

This firmware update is recommended for all drives currently in the field if the end user is experiencing any of these symptoms. (This you cannot know if you havent had much heavy load like gaming from the disk or an unexpected power loss).

Download it from here:

Cheers,

What firmware your SSD has now? If you bought it recently, it should already have the newest FW.

Ghost, when I bought my brand new Vertex 4 just after release date, there was already a firmware update when it arrived at my home.

I think that is pretty standard for SSD.

Well... You know, OCZ... They need some FW improvements to get their SSDs working :D.
