Thanks for any advice.

if you are spending that much on it, go for a solid state. this one is my recommendation.

also, I assume that there will be overclocking, in which case you will want an aftermarket cooler. I like this but there are cheaper traditional coolers out there (with similar performance)

EDIT** also, with two cards in SLI, you will want a full tower case. if you like the Antecs, go with the 1200.

nice system,,,, i would just go with a single gtx580(one of those overclocked super duper editions) and keep it until new cards come out,,,, definitely go with SOLID STATE DRIVE ,,big difference vs usual HDDs,,, as for the case, there are so many better ones, ask around,,,, i got antec1200 myself, its awesome and i don't regret but there are other cases that will make ur life much easier and more pleasant.

Gaming?

Try changing to the Z68 version of that board, so at least when there's something wrong with the GPU for example, you can still use your rig. Even a cheaper board would be greatly sufficient already.

A i5 2500K is more than enough for your needs.

You can afford to add an SSD there.

CHANGE your PSU.

Why that specific case? You can get a cheaper one YET still retain the same features more or less.

Do you really have to have Blu-Ray?

A GTX 580 would do actually.

The one you listed totals CA$2887. Add the one I listed with the OS, card reader, Blu-Ray drive, and Hitachi HDD, you get CA$2033. You save some money yet haven't really sacrificed anything in terms of performance. You actually gained some with the SSD for faster boot times, and level loading in games.
