I wanted to know if anybody know how to recover a video when it's been incorrectly flashed. Basically it's saying asci id is different then the bios id and gives me this 0fl01 and 0fl02 errors. If any body could help me recover my x800 I would be really :)

it quite easy to blind flash m8 ,

just make a dos boot disk (use drdflash.exe (google it)),
once done download and copy atiflash309 to the floppy .
then either download a bios from this site or better still use your backup bios (if you made one)
rename the bios to something easy , like new.bin
then restart the pc with the floppy drive in , it should load the floppy (you should hear this, as long as the pc is set to boot of floppy first in the bios )
leave the pc for a minute or so,
the type
atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 new.bin (this is number 0 not letter o)

again you show hear the floppy working , and leave for a minute , remove the floppy , and his the reset button on the front of your pc ..

It's quite easy , just type carefully

I have already tried that but it still is not working. The computer will not boot up if the card is connected. I have even tried to blind flashing this to work. It gives me the error I stated in the first post.

are you in the UK?

I'm thinking perhaps i could stick it in my pc and see if i can flash it back for you. dunno how i could ensure you get it back though. It'd have to be done with recorded delivery both ways. LOL, your probably in the US so it wouldn't be much help anyway.

something to think about anyway.

Just borrow or buy a very cheap PCI card and connect your monitor to it. Once you have video, do all the same steps to flash again your dead card.

Make sure you pick a PCI card that has different chip of your dead card, otherwise you could re-flash the PCI card. Buy a SiS 6326 8MB or something like that. Also make sure that your BIOS is configured to PCI Primary Graphic device not PCI Express. You won't get video if it's PCI Exp selected, if this happens just jump the BIOS with the little jumper or take out the battery from the motherboard.

Good luck!

Basically I flashed a PCIE version on the AGP Version but thanks for all the input guys right now I have a PCI 7000. I'll try getting my hands on a PCI nvidia card and see if I can get it work that way. Again many thanks for the input. I'll keep you guys updated.
