Free Network Monitoring Tool?

Hey guys, im at college and we have been assigned to try some network management tools on a 12 or so pc network - does anyone know of any decent trial / free software that I can use?

cain and able and ethereal are some i know of depends on what u need to do

Just simple things like IP monitors, bandwidth, all that sort of stuff.
