Freesync Flicker.

I am having the same issues described in the link above. I tried both on a 1070 Ti and an RX 570 same issue, with Freesync on, i get a flicker effect in games. But if i turn it off all is fine, on both the AMD and Nvidia card.
Have you experienced something similar ? Is it a "feature" of Freesync or should i try to contact AOC to see if i can RMA the monitor ?
Thanks.

PS: i have the monitor in the pc specs.

Have you contacted AOC about it? I suppose your display is still under warranty. Since it's suppose to be "flicker free" having it flicker with FreeSync enabled is not within spec.

It's on AMD's list as Q32G1WG4/ CQ32G1:

I'm wondering if you got a different hardware revision of the CQ32G1 than what was qualified and...well...AMD needs that new hardware to update the drivers to make it work. If you're running the latest drivers from AMD, your best bet is to complain to AOC.

I used the latest beta for both the 1070Ti and the RX570. I will send AOC an email. Thanks.

Are there any additional settings that you can check regarding freesync that are listed in monitor settings? Have you checked if same flicker occurs at lower refresh rate, say 120Hz?

I have the AOC Q3279UFWD8 and have used it with a rx570 and a gtx1070ti and it will get flicker but only after a display option change or after coming out of sleep... In both cases turning the monitor off and back on resolves the issue

It's a different model so..

I have that monitor too on another system :) same problem with the monitor flickering, that is resolved by a simple off-on switch. But this issue is stranger, as only parts of the image flicker, like in the video i posted in the link above.
Chomiq same problem on 120Hz and 100Hz, no other options, just an on-off toggle.

How normal is it for a company to ask questions about my address, phone number while submitting a simple question not an RMA request ? https://eu.aoc.com/en/service-contact?

It's somewhat normal.. They get you to register and complain all at the same time

AOC, say no more. I used to have one of their 4K screens and a friend of mine had one as well. We had exactly the same issues, random LOUD crackling speaker noises, the screen would power off by itself and had to be unplugged before it worked again, various strange distortions on the right hand side of the screen and a bunch of other strange distortions. Sent mine back, they claimed they updated the firmware, got it back, all the same problems persisted. Tried different cables and graphics cards, same problems. In the end I managed to get a refund through the local consumers rights organisation, as they have quite a bit of clout here. I would avoid AOC at all cost when possible, if it's anything but the most standard type of display, as they clearly have severe issues with their screens as soon as they offer any kind of "features".

AOC is one of the best brands out there in terms of price-perfomance. AOC Q3279UFWD8 is the best monitor you can get for 200$ and my CQ32G1 is a great monitor that dose what other 32" 1440p 144Hz VA panel do, but at 150$ less.
