Ok my friend is having problems with his computer right now. Basically it crashed on the windows loading screen. This is what he told me on MSN.

I switch on the PC
then i get a screen
"Safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc, etc
and whatever one i do
it doesnt matter
the next screen is the Windows XP loading screen, and the bar underneath the logo
freezes at the middle, and the pc reboots"

Now i'm not too sure what the problem is. I suggested doing a repair install with the xp disk (i'll be giving him that tomorrow) but in the mean time do any of you have any ideas?

I think you have the answer already. Windows is corrupt, and needs fixing. In the mean time you friend can read a book! :D

If he can't even get into safe mode, Repairing windows is the only option I can think of.

Edit: AWW erocker beat me to it :(
