Fully featured Firefox with reasonable memory usage is possible?

Firefox consumes 450 MB of memory after 5 days of running with the extensions I have installed. I would like lower memory usage, but it is possible with Firefox and the extensions I have installed?

I don't want to uninstall the extensions because each extension other than FoxyTunes and StatusBarEx are essential to me.

Firefox has a memory leak.... it does this if you leave it running

You can set the amount of memory, which the browser can use by going to about:config and changing the setting. I don't remember the exact setting you had to change but i think it was "browser.cache.memory.capacity". Just lower this value and see if less memory is used.
If it didn't work then search for a firefox optimiser document on the net and it should contain this kind of information on how to make firefox faster and use less memory. This worked for me but it was a long time ago so i don't remember the exact things i changed. Well, what i did was I went and found some information on optimising firefox and after reading through it and changing whatever necessary my firefox used much less memory and was a lot faster in starting and loading large sessions.

you can also use the firefox ultimate optimizer... there's a thread here on tpu about it... lemme see if i can dig it up.

i think it also speeds up firefox a bit, but maybe that's just my brain playing tricks on me(it likes to shift gears...)
