Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share some findings hoping to help others.

I had a situation whereby G-Sync on some games would turn on at game launch then the indicator would disappear after a few seconds. V-Sync would also completely stop working. This happened in Valorant, FF7 Rebirth and even Expedition 33.

I did many things to reinstall drivers etc. etc. I have finally found the culprit which is Discord.

I turned off Discord Overlay and now my G-Sync works flawlessly in any window, borderless etc.

Hope this helps some members and internet travelers out there.

Yep, the only way I caught it was when I launched a game G-Sync comes on then turns off as soon as the Discord Overlay welcomes you. Such a mindfck at the start since I had so many apps using the GPU in the background.

I heard this for other people too. Discord overlay does strange stuff. One of my buddies just had a laggy COD gameplay until it was disabled

Discord is annoying sometimes. I lost my push to talk sound notification the other day and found out Discord automatically sets you to "streamer mode" if OBS is open, which disables many sound notifications.
