Gain The Competitive Edge On The Mac With Razer

Looks just like any other "gaming" keyboard. Where is the aluminium, magnesium, glossy white plastic and transparent decoration? This one has no connection to the Apple brand at all.

Oh true well this keyboard is no good to apple fanatics then.

It needs to have an apple logo on it somewhere :/

If adobe made a photoshop mmo I'm sure razor could sell literally hundreds of units.

^^

Though 80 dollars is cheap by Mac standards so this is a barggin, and best of all it will actually work without breaking in 3 weeks.

Lol, name one competitive gamer that uses a MAC. Anyone... (cricket chirps)...

none of course, for gaming at least.

i think it's really being sold toward mmos, even though they talk about the "edge" it can give you.

WoW is on mac...

I would like to also point out that this keyboard has the Mac function markings on the F keys, since nobody has mentioned it so far. For functions like expose, spaces, dashboard, media, volume, etc.

As someone who has been using various Microsoft, Logitech, etc keyboards on his Macs for a long time, this is something I will have to consider next time around. It looks sharp.

who's using apple/mac for gaming, raise your hand...

Hand raised and in addition I was doing it before most of you were born, had ever seen a PC, or played a video game.

Lol, I can't think of one competitive gamer that uses a PC, other than Johnathan Wendel, and that's only because of the marketing. They really just aren't real celebrities in the real world, so of course people aren't going to know names.

LOL because we all know Battlefield, Counterstrike, runs so well on OS X without the use of wine or virtualized OS's or the like, TF2 and SC2 a deep gaming library does not make. Making "gaming keyboard" for a Mac is a bit like making a rear spoiler a honda oddesy, it will never have enough speed or engine to make use of it.

Ninety nine plus percent of people who game on computers don't use Mac, just the way it is, and always will be. Now let it be said I have nothing against Unix, so I do not hate the Mac OS, just their overpriced hardware.

a mouse makes sense, but gaming keyboards are useless gimmicks.

my dell keyboard is ps/2, over a decade old, and probably handles key ghosting better than something 8 times its worth.

Was a non-believer until I played Starcraft 2. The amount of APM you spam each game will kill most non-mechanical keyboards within months if you are playing at the higher leagues. PS2 keyboards are good, but nowadays its hard if not impossible to find PS2 on laptops. Mouse in the other hand in Starcraft 2, lets just say some progamer stole a mouse from a cybercafe and won a $10k tourney with it.

You don't have to virtualize anything to play PC games on a modern Mac. You can boot into Windows natively.

And they market these as gaming boards, but mechanical boards are better, even just for typing. It is amazing the difference they make.

That said, I hate the Black Widows. Razer really dropped the ball on them. They are clicky keys, which is unacceptable in a gaming keyboard. Tactile I can live with (and even prefer), but the click drives me insane.

I know they can run windows, but that is basically a Mac pretending to be a PC, my point is Macs cant run many games in OS X because they don't exist.

All the Valve games do. Id games. A ton of EA games. Etc., Etc. There are a ton of games on Mac. Just not as many as PC. Not as many as PC =/= no games on Mac.

I know what you were trying to get at. It was just dumb (not to mention incorrect). Picking on Macs isn't funny anymore. It's worn out and stupid. Not to mention, 9/10 the person doing the picking is incorrect.

Came to this thread expecting a razer mouse with 1 button..

Left disappointed.

It's a nice keyboard regardless of which camp you're from, pretty small modification they had to make to sell to a bunch more people.

You can play WoW, SC2, League of Legends, Portal 2 (and the other valve stuff) on Mac with no problems... and kick in Windows when you need it for the stuff that hasn't been ported yet.:)
