From a technical point of view which ones would qualify for top looking?

totaly random ... Crysis 3 of FarCry 3 (tech and look side) Tomb Raider (2013) buuttt it widely depend on every ones opinions ... what "you" call top looking... Even Sudeki looks still good for me O.o okok ... maybe not...

I'm going to say Crysis 3 for right now. with a powerful machine, the faces look completely lifelike, and everything else looks pretty darned excellent too.

Modded Skyrim for scenery

It all depends on your system of course... but new games right with all high settings looks good actually.... but like GreiverBlade mentioned, it all depends on eyes of each player..

but ill give crysis 3 the best looking for me... with all effects and tech and so on.

Bioshock infinite looks cool as well

Depends if you want to stress your card or if you're looking for something to stare at...for instance I saw an article today that reminded me how beautiful Dishonored was because of the style and environments. Skyrim as said or maybe Crysis if you want more "realistic" stuff that is actually graphical rather than more artsy..I guess.

Speaking of stress test. I just checked GPU-Z in the Star Citizen hangar. Needs some AA (which would make it a slide-show) but looks pretty good.

Best so far Tomb Raider 2013. Haven't played Crysis 3 or FarCry 3 yet.

ahhh im not alone!

and @erocker .... !!! damn i completely forgot about SC, not for listing it as "best graphic" but for getting prepared to it xD damn it went off budget :D

Personally, i find the graphics of Crysis 3 quite boring. I'm not sure why, i guess I'm just not really into the art direction.

Witcher 2 on Ultra looks fantastic, same as metro 2033 on Ultra. I'm guessing that Last Light looks even better, but i haven't played it yet. Last light is used for a lot of benchmarks, and supposedly runs and looks better than 2033 which already looks better than any current gen game.

Skyrim with mods also gets a recommendation from me!

Skyrim with modded textures and ambience and lighting and mesh mods etc etc
Also Witcher 2 with Ubersampling.
Crysis 3 I wasnt impressed with at all. Especially foliage.

Does ubersampling really make much difference? I turned it on and immediately turned it off. Took me from 75+fps to about 25-30, with not much difference in quality. Both at ultra.

Wasnt too bad on a 780, made everything shiny smooth for me, though I think you see a bigger difference on higher res monitors a la 1600p

Yeah i just looked it up. It basically eliminates all jaggies and rough edges all in one. I guess as you said, to really benefit from it you'd need a larger monitor/resolution. Not really worth it at 1080p imo :)

Btw, if interested there is also this mod http://witcher2.nexusmods.com/mods/158/? basically makes all the textures in the game higher quality.

You mean Crysis 1.

Almost free roam driving, boating and walking, little restrictions. Unscripted breakable environments and objects. What you see you can pick up and shoot. Turtles, butterflies, birds and wildlife all intractable.

But yes on a whole the Crysis and Farcry series are definitely the most visually pleasing game on the PC.

well ... you mean Far Cry. ;) since Far Cry 2 wasnt from the same team and Crysis 1 was.

Crysis 1 was visually more appealing than Far Cry 1 and had way more exploration, destruction and interactivity.

I would go as far as saying the texture son Crysis 1 was on par with the textures on Farcry 2. But that's where the similarities end, Crysis 1 owns in every other department visually.

A fully modded out Skyrim i think beats them all

Some good examples already mentioned, but I always give a nod to Just Cause 2. It's certainly not the prettiest game out there, and they DO use some blurring effects for distant textures, but considering the file size of the game, the huge map that you can traverse with no level loading, and it's ability to run well on a wide range of hardware, it ranks right up there with some of the best of them. Looking forward to Just Cause 3.

I also have to give a shout out to Max Payne 3. Hated the garish, flashy effects in the cutscenes, but it's model detail, mo cap, and animation realism is some of the best in the industry. Just the way he handles his guns is so cool. Carrying the dual handed weapons in one hand, having shoulder slings for the one handed ones, and putting the dual handed one under his arm pit while reloading the one handed ones, you just don't commonly see that in games. On top of that the textures were pretty detailed and realistic too.

If you mod STALKER: Call of Pripyat it looks awesome.

Fortnite for me. :banghead:
