GeForce GT 1030 with GDDR5 vs with DDR4 System RAM

OK, this may seem like a really dumb question but what is the difference between GDDR5 memory and DDR4 system memory? Now, obviously I know that GDDR5 runs a hell of a lot faster in terms MHz but there's got to be something more to it than that. Yeah... it's a dumb question and I feel a tad bit silly asking.

Yes, I saw that video but he never explained the difference between GDDR5 and DDR4 memory. I know that using GDDR5 is best but what makes it so?

Not only does GDDR5 run a lot faster, it also runs faster on less power, GDDR5X is again using less power, runs much faster (twice the bandwidth of GDDR5)

G(raphics)DDR memory in general is designed differently than system memory. GDDR runs at really high speeds, but also really high latency compared to system RAM. The timings would be awful for system RAM, but you can get away with that with graphics memory, with more MHz being the tradeoff.
