I have a small form factor PC that I cannot upgrade. It only has one HDMI connector, but I want to use it to power two monitors. I thought about an HDMI splitter, but my research leads me to believe it can only duplicate the image. Anyone got any ideas?

Splitter is the only option for HDMI. HDMI does not support Multi-Stream Technology like DisplayPort.

Yep, not possible with HDMI. HDMI is one display output per port.

You do have a few options though.

If your computer had a DVI connector, they use the exact same signal as HDMI. So you can use a cheap passive adapter to convert the DVI connector into a HDMI port. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812270286

If your computer had a DisplayPort connector, then you can use a Displayport to HDMI adapter. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812117665

If you don't have either of those, then you can use a USB to HDMI display adapter. These work a little bit differently than the other options. USB to HDMI adapter are actually little video cards in a box. So the second monitor wouldn't be running of the GPU in the computer, it would be running off the GPU in the USB adapter. They, obviously, aren't very powerful. So no games, but I have used them to play 1080p video just fine and do everything else I needed a computer to do. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free...pter-Converter-For-PC-Laptop/32619894950.html (Sorry about no Newegg link, but all of the ones on newegg are like $50+, which is a rip-off. This aliexpress one is good, I've bought it before.)

I just discovered that it has a Displayport connector, too. Unfortunately, I do not have a DP capable monitor, so I'll have to wait to be able to multi-mon it. Thanks.

Try buying a DP to dual hdmi output or similar. Expect at least 30 bucks from my research.

Or if you have both hdmi and do, just get a dp to hdmi which is 10 bucks.
