Slightly surprised there was no news stories on TPU for this as other sites have picked up the story (I did not see a story on TPU at least) so I'll post this here.
Gigabyte is now so confident in the RTX 4070/4060 information that they have that they decided to include unannounced SKU support in their software. As some of our readers may know, Gigabyte Control Center is the company’s main app for motherboard and graphics card management. Here, users can adjust fan speeds, implement overclocking or control the lighting or built-in screen. The latest “23.03.02.01” version appears to bring support for two cards that have not been released yet:
Gigabyte RTX 4070 AERO OC 12GB (GV-N4070AERO OC-12G)
Gigabyte RTX 4060 GAMING OC 8GB (GV-N4060GAMING OC-8GD)
Since Gigabyte product codes are pretty easy to read, this would be a first confirmation from a board partner on the RTX 4060 memory config. The card is indeed expected to feature 8GB capacity, just as the rumors have claimed. The 12GB spec for RTX 4070 should not be a surprise to anyone, though.According to our information, NVIDIA should announce the RTX 4070 non-Ti on April 12th, only to launch it on the next day. The RTX 4060 series does not have a release date yet, but board partners now expect both SKUs to drop in May at soonest.
