Gigabyte M32UC Monitor - Blank Screen with Backlight

I've just unboxed this brand new monitor. Have plugged in my laptop and can hear the chime from Windows that you would usually hear when plugging in another display. I can also see this display showing within my display settings, as well as receiving power from the USB C port.

However, the monitor does not show anything, and is just a constant black screen with the back-light on. This is the same case when I plug into another device, using different ports and cables.I have tried using the Gigabyte Control software on my laptop, and the software detects the monitor. I've therefore also updated the firmware for this monitor via the Control software. I've restarted all devices I've tested on. None of this has worked.

Would really appreciate any thoughts/advice on this.

How do you have it plugged in? If it is through the USB C port it may need to be configured but what are your system Specs? In your Display settings try to make it your main display and see what happens when you do a restart. You can also go into to Device Manager and try to update the drivers. You should also check Gigabyte's website for any firmware updates.

Thanks for your response :)

haven’t tried drivers or main display setting yet. But it makes me think it’s not a drivers issue due to the PS4 also not showing anything on that monitor?

It’s a HP Zenbook I’m using for my laptop.
Have already updated firmware as per my previous comment, to no avail.

thanks

My gigabyte display does this too, if i run multi monitor
If i switch which one is primary, it remains the same issue - i have to run single monitor to avoid the issue

A firmware update MIGHT help, but gigabytes firmware update tools are a horrible mess that install a bunch of unwanted RGB software you'll need to remove when you're done

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, this isn't working regardless of if it's multi or single setup... :(

Part of it can come down to the displayport cable you use - i had to buy a high quality aftermarket one to reduce my issues

Some theories online were about an extra pin being included that's not meant to be there (It's for sending power out to power DP to HDMI converters for example, but NOT meant to be there for plain DP to DP use) - because power is detected, the screen doesnt sleep properly

Just a theory others had, but something that seems plausible

If you have tested with multiple devices and cables, along with firmware update, I'm sorry to say it's very unlikely that this isn't plain broken. Personally, I would RMA it
