Before I get to excited about getting off work and booting up my pc....
I have the Gigabyte N650SLI-DS4 mobo and I just purchased 2GB's DDR2 800MHz. The default voltage settings for the ram on the mobo are 1.8 or so...I need to get into the BIOS and up it to 2.1 volts to support my RAM.

Can I get into the BIOS to adjust to voltage with the 800MHz RAM connected or can I take out the ram and do it with no ram in there or do I have to get ram that is set to 1.8 or less?

Thanks for your input =)

You have to have ram in to boot and get in the bios ;)

just use you current ram set the volts and reboot then get in the bios press the power button it should turn off, turn off the switch from the PSU if you have one or unplug it wait for like 1 min. take the old ram out then put the new in turn the PSU back on the turn on the comp

>< Darn! I don't have any other DDR2 RAM to put into the PC lol perhaps I will pick up a cheap stick o' ram today just to adjust the voltage =)

oh lol just try it with it then I thought you had some lower speed ram try it it might work :)

why??just put ur new ram...n set in the bios the ddr2 voltage u need...why need other ram??

read post above ;)

and some ram at higher volts might not boot with 1.8v

Thats my other option LOL
Just wing it and pray that it works. The only problem is I'm at work and after work I need to go to the shop to pick up my GPU's. If I have to get some DDR2 I would like to kill two birds with one stone and not have to make two trips during rush hour traffic ><

If only I knew building my own PC was gonna bring me to make life threatening decisions like this!

OCZ cannot boot with 1.8v??
