Hello,

I have a 1660 super card and it shows the card connected to the monitor as a 'hdtv' and the higher resolutions are under a tv setting instead of a 'pc' setting. I contacted Nvidia about this several times and my monitor company and the monitor company blamed nvidia and nvidia blamed the monitor. Neither company was able to fix it. I suspected all along it was because of the type of cable I was using and that using hdmi confused the video card.

I changed to DVI and it stopped doing it. Although you can't change any of the settings like dynamic range when using dvi. Maybe it is already on the max settings? I read that hdmi/dvi is supposed to be the same quality but it looks slightly better with dvi. What could be causing the glitch.

Thanks

if the monitor supports display port, you can try a cord for that.
which monitor is it?

I have an acer r240hy. It doesn't actually have a display port. just hdmi/dvi and vga. it's a curious issue, I was just trying to understand it.
