Hi,

I have a fairly recent mouse, recent monitor and almost every component in my PC is brand new.

The only part or accessories in this case that could do with replacing is the keyboard as its ancient and knackered, filthy and worn out keys is only half the story.

The keyboard I have is a http://s14.photobucket.com/user/danza1/media/AdventKeyboard.jpg.html bought 4 back in 2006. Served me well, I'm used to this type of keyboard more than any other type. Would take me an age to get used to a different type, would mean many of hours of rage quitting in my games.

You can no longer purchase them anywhere so I would need another one like it, preferably a 2014/2015 keyboard. Have not got a set budget. UK layout please. A lot of the well recommended keyboards are not chiclet types, if this is what it is.

I'm guessing, but the keys on your Advent do look like the scissor keys on my Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.

Here it is on the UK Amazon site...

These keyboards are very durable. While not a 2014/5 board, it has some modern flair. Simple and elegant with white back-lit keys.

Thanks, I think I'll buy that one.

The other two that I looked at were wireless. I forgot to mention that above. The Advent one I use is wired, don't like the sound of wireless.

Logitech k750 and the HP Elite V2. Didn't read the reviews as wireless isn't my thing. Couldn't find any brand new ones myself.

Do you want the "true" chiclet product (with gaps between the keys, like on laptops) or just a non-mechanical kind? In first case, I would like to recommend Logitech K290.

It goes for 14.99 GBP (40% off) on Amazon UK at the moment.

It's pretty good for its price, although you might have some troubles getting used to Space key (like with most chiclet keyboards, you have to learn to press it a bit harder than everything else). Oh, and the F1-F12 keys act like media keys by default, you can revert this using the driver if you need to. I chose not to do that because F1 key ("Search") comes extremely useful with Windows 8.1 and it's just not possible to miss it.

It also looks fantastic in everyday use (and is fairly easy to clean):

I second the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. I've had one for a few years now and it has really held up well at work. :)

I agree erocker...after 5 years, mine still looks brand new. I wipe it off about once a week with a 50% pure water/48% white vinegar/2% rubbing alcohol solution. Same solution I use on my monitors. Works perfectly in getting rid of and keeping away any shine off the keys...although...I'm still wondering what they make the wrist rest out of...it's the most durable material I've ever seen.

Best,
