Hey Guys,

I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte B450i, and MSI RTX 2070S.

This morning I attempted a GPU deshroud mod. Just pulled the shroud off the 2070, used 2 x mini PWM to normal PWM adapter cables to connect the GPU to 2 x 120mm fans.

When I mounted it all back in the case and attempted to boot, the GPU fans spin at full RPM and nothing is displayed on the screen, so I don't think the GPU is making it past POST.

Reconnecting the stock shroud and putting everything back the way it was, the issue still persists. I checked all the power cables, ensured everything was seated correctly etc. to make sure I didn't bump anything out of the way. The GPU doesn't have a secondary BIOS switch that I could find. I also tried clearing the motherboard CMOS but it hasn't helped. Any ideas? I don't have another graphics card to try but am I thinking I may need to find one. Hope I haven't bricked my GPU!

check to see if you accidentally scratched the gpus PCB, or damaged the motherboard socket?. Also, did you de-static yourself? maybe use a strap to ground yourself?

edit
and made sure your power cables are plugged in all the way.

Carefully check for obvious signs like damage, burns, dirty connectors, clean them and try again. Wipe golden PCIe pins with rubbing alcohol. Maybe that will hep.
