Hello, I have a problem with my GPU fans that spin at max speed as soon as I turn on the computer, before even reaching the BIOS. This happens in both Linux and Windows, and I have never used any fan control software before.

The problem started after I installed a new SATA SSD and cleaned some dust and tidied up my cable management in my case. To do this, I had to remove the GPU and reinstall it. I have checked that the GPU is plugged into the PCIe slot properly and that the power cable is connected securely.

However, on booting the system, before even reaching the UEFI, the GPU fans spun up to max.

I have tried the following steps to solve the problem:

- I used DDU to completely remove the GPU drivers and reinstalled them on Windows.
- I checked the GPU temperature and utilization using Sapphire TRIXX, AMD Adrenaline, GPU-Z, HWiNFO and Open Hardware Monitor. All of them showed low values compared to the high RPM of the fans.
- I attempted to control the fans using AMD Adrenaline and Fan Control. Neither of them had any effect on the fan speed. Fan Control also warned me that the GPU fan did not respond to control.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue and how to fix it? I appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you

PS. Do I need to manually write my specs, or does having them on profile automatically attach them?

Do you have warranty ? I had something like that happen to a 2080 i used to own. I RMA it and got my money back since they didn't have one to replace with. It might have been the chip that controls the rpm of the GPU fans. Before RMA, you could try unplug your GPU again, cleaning the PCIE contacts with IPA and a cue tip, then put the card back in.

PS: if your card has dual-BIOS try the other one.

I only bought the card in February so I've still got warranty, but I will try isopropyl acohol first.
