been thinking about trying some overclocking but i wanted to have some tools ahead of time to make my project a success. one of them being GPU Z but when i run the app, it comes up with an error and i'm not sure why i'm getting it.............drivers and such are all up to date. alittle help would be nice and thanks for your patience and time. what i'm working with is:

OS: windows 7 ultimate 64f bit
cpu: 3770K
gpu: msi gtx 660 ti
ram: 16gb of LP corsair
psu: ultra 750w

i think thats my info you'll need; if needed more pls ask and i'll provide it, again thanks and have a great nite! :)

oh yeah, would have been nice of me to tell you what the error is:

"during the startup of gpu-z crashed at OpenCL detection. please update your OpenCL and graphics drivers. would you like to re-enable OpenCL detection?" of course i press "yes" but it makes no difference and i've tried numerous times. also, my graphics drivers are up to date , as well as my windows drivers and any other drivers i can think of; just at a loss as to what to do. i even tried the google method with no success. :(

update your intel vga drivers

well, i definitely have a conflict somewhere with my graphics. i'm running a asus P8Z77-V motherboard, so i went to the asus site and downloaded the vga driver and installed. the installation told me that i have a newer version on my system already but i went ahead and downloaded anyway. well that sent my graphics for a spin; lost my graphics til i told the system to "go back to last known good configuration", then i got my graphics back. not sure what i got going on............must have too many drivers or something on here but i can see why i can't get the gpu-z to work either......trying to figure out where to go now..........:(

just uninstall the intel vga drivers from control panel -> programs and features, assuming you don't use the intel vga output ports on your motherboard, or go to intel and download the latest vga driver

Have you updated BIOS on the mobo lately?

I was having VGA problems with the 7790, but it was solved by updationg the motherboard BIOS for some reason.

OpenCL crashes in GPU-Z are a driver issue. Intel and AMD have shipped buggy OpenCL drivers in the past that crashed as soon as you tried to use OpenCL.

yes needed update all drivers
if you have intel onboard uninstall this driver
Go update your bios
use last cpu-z and gpu-z
your system overclock?
change to reset seting

I'm not sure why some people are giving tips for an issue they haven't experienced or that they don't understand.

hey folks, i think i figured out my problem. i had a confliction with my onboard graphics and my graphics card. on my asus P8Z77-V board they have the setting kinda hidden unless you are familiar with their lingo. but i reset it so that my graphics card was the primary and the onboard was just there "so to speak". at that point, my system would accept my driver updates and such; so then things went much smoother. thanks for everyone's input, it helped trust me, it had me pissed :). have a great nite ppl!! :)
