Graphics cards differences between Hdmi/Dp.

Do i own much by using the DP port instead of hdmi? I mean without playing games. Just watching movies. Pictures. Use firefox etc.

The HDMI forum is kind of scummy in regards to open source, but from a technical perspective, no. If things are working as you expect, the picture should be the same,

Depends on your monitor, your inputs and your outputs, as well as cables.
There are several revisions of HDMI and DP, so without knowing what hardware you have and what cables you have, it's an impossible question to answer.

I have a AOC 34" gaming cu34g2xp from Dec 2024. Bought in march 2024. Pretty new. I use it to my vintage workstation Dell T3500 precision. The graphic card is a old one. Gigabyte Nvidia geforce GTX 660 windforce. The cables are the ones who followed with the AOC screen.

I use Windows 8.1 on that. It seems complicated to install 10 when it is missing the UEFI bios that requires. But i have learned that you create a Usb with legacy boot.

So maybe 3440x1440@60Hz ?

DisplayPort 1.2 from it supports 4k@60, so you might get 3440x1440@95(120)Hz.

Yes that is correct. 3440x1440@60Hz is maximum with hdmi. Higher Hz is not needed when you do not play?
