GTA IV ERROR Codes

I got this error (ZLIB20) today and thought i'd have a quick look what i could find on it and came across the below link. In my case it says reinstall game lol.

Good information. I can't say I have really experienced any major crashes, but I haven't really played the game a whole lot(Fallout 3 still has my focus, plus I had the game for PS3, so it isn't totally exciting to me). I've probably only got about 2-4 hours of game play in on the PC version, and only in 30-45 minute sessions.

i got resc10 witch indicates that i am out of video memory but how can it be if i got 2gb video memory?

Your 2GB of video memory is really only 1GB to the system as all data stored in the memory has to be stored twice, once for each core.

ok if its so than why does my friend dont get such error when they got even less than 1gb video memory and runs same graphic lelev as me?

Maybe it's happening due to knowing there is more ram but not able to access it as SLI or CF do not work. Maybe this happens since you have one v card. Hopfully they will fix multi GPU solutions soon.

I have a new OS install and straight to the 8.12 drivers I went and just bought a second 4870 1GB for crossfire and just installed the patch and have a legal copy 100% and I am still getting out of memory errors from gta iv!!!!!! They need to get their shit together for real.

How much RAM are you using and how is your page-file setup?

I using 480 from 1024 and i still get out of video memory
and the same on 890/1024.
and sometimes game just stuck and sound starts to shoot from minigun fast repeats.and with new patch sound dissapiered it was very wierd.

Lol I have 2 4870s both have 1gb ont them and I have 4gb ogf ram and a q9450 @ 3.85ghz.

Try a none fixed pagefile and maybe disabling your sound card as they can course that stuck repeating sound too.
You could try lowing the details i mean like real low and just see if it still does it.

And i have had that sound issue with patch gun in cars not working and no crash sounds.

I set my page to minumum 16mb and max 10000mb. That still didn't fix my out of video memory error / crash.

I dont got any soundcard only integrated.and page file is good enought because all other games is all ok on highest graphic.i dont got any errors.but gta4 is the first game that got such kind of errors.I am starting to regret that i bought that game.

Did you watch that video above? It will make you feel a little better probably. On a side note as well, they also screwed up the release on PS3. I had run across a couple of old post about it.

yes i watched.i hope there will be some normal patch next time.

Then of course you do have a sound card. You can disable it though the BIOS. Was a long shot anyways but always worth checking.

I must be one of few as i am really enjoying playing it .

and why should i play without sound.i didnt bought game to play it without sound u know.But i tried to run again and sound was there it was just some afterpach issue or something that just once apierred.

Why ?. Well IF the sound card was the issue disabling it would tell you if it was or not.


I just hope they correct the patch as i was really happy how the game was except for some keymapping and no joystick.
