Hello. My card Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme, no OC. 6700K stock, psu Corsair 750 RM

Problem is in GTA V. Listen.

The problem I get however is sudden drop for just 1 second to 2D clocks on my, causing massive FPS lag, a second later the clocks go back up again. Just drop from 1975mhz to 291mhz for one second.

Gpuz reporting UTIL reason.

This happens at ANY stage. Nothing to do with in-game activity or scene or whatever.

It drops once every few hours, very rarely. Its hard to catch. But i want to be sure that is hardware or software related?

Screen i added black arrows during this moment, look:

I have latest driver version. Also tried with 368.69 and the same problem.System clean, no other programs in background. No driver crash during this.

Windows 10 Anniversary. Nothing overclocked in system. This issue not happens in 3dmark 11 & 13 or Unigine Heaven and not even in Mafia 3.

Fraps can cause fps drops...

Don't use fraps, use the fps counter built-in steam. (assuming you got GTA V on steam)

I hear GeForce experience is Popular ;)

Fill out ur System Specs and make sure that GFX Drivers and GTAV is fully updated.

I agree with @P4-630 Fraps is known to can cause fps drops so find something else to measure with to see if u still have fps drops.

Gpuz reporting UTIL reason. Fraps didnt cause this. Its just core clock dropping this is my problem.

Util = Utilization. Indicating perf is limited by GPU utilization

Either your card is exceeding temp, or load limits, but the reason is reported by the driver that GPUZ is showing. I would suggest uninstalling the drivers completely and running driver cleaner before trying to reinstall new drivers, or trying with a different driver set.

Pleas fill out the rest of your system specs, try running it without FRAPS as others suggested, and post a screens hot of GPUZ running the load test, it's possible you are CPU or otherwise limited.

I would suggest uninstalling the drivers completely and running driver cleaner before trying to reinstall new drivers, or trying with a different driver set. - i do this 2 times and still nothing .

It drops once every few hours, very rarely. Its hard to catch. And yes GPUZ shows util. In 3dmarks and Unigine Heaven i dont have that drops. So why i this 2 games?

What are your max temps, max TDP and max memory used, also is your windows activated?

Go to nvidia control panel and by GTA5 profile go to power management - set prefer max performance, so it keeps forced full 3d p0 state all the time.
