Hello, i just noticed that my graphic card usage is low, i used msi afterburner for that.. cpu usage is average 60+-% but gpu is like around 30% which is i think not normal in game..

(Problem is that i play games and sometimes FPS drops from like 150 to 50 for few seconds and game keeps lagging and then it just fixs and its back at normal fps, sometimes its happening few times per game..)
also if i press ESC in game, GPU Usage fires up to like 80% but when i go back to game it again falls down to like 30%
CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: NVIDIA GTX760
(Drivers are updated to newest one..) i dont really know how to fix it and its really annoying..

What kind of game?

How many points do you get in 3DMark FireStrike?

Your card seems to be working fine according to this database.

Set power management to 'prefer maximum performance' in Nvidia control panel.

Remove unused background apps, bloatware, from the system, and scan for malware.

Consider overclocking the GTX 760 to improve performance. Look for a guide online. CPU OC might help as well.

1080p?

I'd guess that cpu is choking the card at least some...overclock the cpu and watch fps and gpu use rise.

Also, I recall valorant having some performance issue, but not sure if it was patched

Edit: what he said above, lol.

Edit2: you also have a 2gb video card... you may be running out of vram and that causes the fps drops.... check vram use in afterburner or gpuz as well...

okay i will try that power management, but still i dont get it why it is happening on Rainbow Six Siege, playing with like 100-120fps and then it just drops to like 50fps for 10 seconds and then it just fixes

Are there any windows updates going on? Perhaps other background programs? Also are you running on an SSD?

Seems odd that you would see frames dropped before cpu or gpu got to 100%... How much system ram is installed?

Better yet... Full specs?

Edit; looked at your system specs by looking at your profile (app doesn't show it under you avatar). I see you have a 1TB drive. Mechanical I'm assuming? If so, fps drop could be due to high disk usage/cpu waiting for data. Tab over to task management next time you see the frames drop and see what it shows for disk usage %.

Also, 8gb ram may be a tad low for apex, depending on setting

okay next time i will check that, thanks a lot for help guys! :)

Yeah... it may be a combination of things...

8GB of RAM is not generally enough (considered a minimum these days with 16GB a sweetspot). I also hope you have TWO (2x4GB) sticks of RAM for dual channel or there is a peformance hit there as well.

2GB GPU... 4GB is a minimum today for 1080p ultra gaming... If you go past 2GB, it moves to system RAM which is slower than the vRAM on your card.

Could be the HDD too... if you run out of RAM, data gets paged out to the HDD (swap file)... so that could be it.

As was said, check these things out in task manager/GPUz/MSI Afterburner (the latter two GPU only)... Have it up and in the background, play a game, when you hitch, alt-tab out of the game and see what it says? Are you using more than 8GB of system RAM? 2GB of vRAM? Then you've found your issue.

Time to save your money for a complete upgrade, honestly...

after i put power management to maximum PC sometimes just freezes for 1 second with buzz noice, hm.. (i just need what do i need to upgrade, gpu, hdd or what? because im not that often on pc so i dont need to put best components to it.. just sometimes playing games)

Not sure bud. We're asking you to take a look at things (maybe post a picture up would be best) and see what is up.....

... you haven't done that. So we can't tell you what to do.

So, again, please have GPUz running along with Task manager. Play a game... when it hitches and returns to normal, alt-tab out of the game and take a screen shot of task manager and the GPUz sensor tab.

I will post screenshot of task manager and gpu z here but it ist not happening now to me.. its completly random so i dont know when fps will drop again, i will wait and then i will post ist there

Generally that kind of freeze indicates a driver issue.
Have you tried a legacy driver for that card?

cant find any legacy drivers for my gtx 760

This tells me that perhaps a windows update was going on. My system had actually just finished an update the same night I mentioned it in the post lol.

maybe, because 2 days in a row playing and still nothing, probably you can close this topic.. if something similiar will happend in future i will create new one.. thanks everyone for help
