Ok, so I know this is an ancient problem with lots of users having had difficulties; but I can find no easy solution to the H100i not being recognized by the Corsair Link nor the Corsair ICUE software. In my case it's not even being recognized in Windows Device Manager. The only Corsair items reported by Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features are Corsair LINK 4 and Corsair Utility Engine. Devices and Printers does not list the H100iV2 neither does Device Manager report any Corsair devices in the USB section, altho there is a "Corsair composite virtual input device" under Human Interface Devices and a "Corsair Bus" under System Devices. There is no UsbXp Driver nor a Corsair Hydro Series 7289 USB Device listed anywhere. I'm wondering if the USB cable is bad? Legacy USB was enabled prior in BIOS and I also enabled XHCI in BIOS after researching for solutions to this problem...

I used to have this issue all the time with my Corsair liquid coolers. There were a few tricks I found to fix them.

The first thing you can try is completely re-installing Corsair Link/iCUE. Also, if the H100iv2 is the only device in your system that you need to control with the Corsair software, uninstall both programs, then just install iCUE. You only need Corsair Link if you are using older Corsair coolers, the v1 coolers. But I've found having it installed can cause confusion and even the problem you've described.

The second thing I've had to do can be a little annoying because you have to fiddle in the case while the computer is running. But basically, I leave the Corsair cooler unplugged from the USB cable until I'm installing the Corsair software. IIRC, I had to do this every time with Windows 7, but I've never had to do it since I moved to Windows 10. I can't exactly remember when I plug it back in, because I haven't done it in a while, but it is either during the install when the installer asks to install the driver or after the software is completely installed and running. I don't even remember if the software asks to install the driver.

The third thing is I've had to move the cable to a different port on the motherboard. I usually have had to do this at the same time I'm doing the second solution. This forces Windows 7 to completely re-install the Corsair cooler and load the proper drivers.

Definitely software conflicts, its like having trixx and afterburner vying for clock control

The thing is, Corsair Link and iCUE are supposed to work together. Anything that iCUE can controller, Corsair Link is supposed to ignore. The devices are still listed in Corsair Link, but they are grayed out with the message "This device is being controlled by iCUE." However, they could both be conflicting trying to install the proper driver. Which is why I would uninstall them both, and only re-install iCUE. In my experience it is less buggy than Corsair Link, and re-installing it should force the driver re-install process.
