A new game on Steam DB titled "Half Life2: Remastered" raised eyebrows across the web. Unlike "Crysis Remastered," which is an official Crytek upcoming title that adds content to the path-breaking shooter from the late-2000s, "Half Life 2: Remastered" doesn't come from Valve, as DSOGaming explains. Developed by Filip Victor, author of the community-made "Half Life 2: Update," a mod for your HL2 installation; "Remastered" adds some new content such as improved lighting, a revamped HDR implementation, and an improved fog. If "Update" is any indication, "Remastered" could be a continuous community effort, adding content to HL2. The holy grail in our opinion would be Valve releasing master versions of its textures for the game, so the game could receive a texture quality update. Find more details in the Steam DB listing here.

So still not counting to 3?

So he is back after abandoning his Half Life 2: Update...

I wonder is this is simply a name grab placeholder, or if it's a real project...?

Would be nice to implement RTX support for this old gem

I dont see it :(

I got all excited and then searched and nothing

Literally been press release from the G-Man himself saying that they are NOT working on 3. Don't hold your breath. I am 34 and if it happens in my life time then I will be happy LOL

It's in the SteamDB only, it could be just a placeholder for something in the future.

Does Valve even make games anymore other than tech demos to sell their VR?
To answer your question, Half-Life: Alyx would be the most recent game Valve has made. Before that, DOTA Underlords (2019), Artifact (2018) and DOTA 2 (2013). Further back, CS:GO (2012) and Portal 2 (2011).

On that note, time flies... hard to believe it's been almost a decade since Portal 2 launched.
