Well you didn´t explain all details but from what you said your HDD is probably dying....but to make sure you should check your HDD with HDD Sentinel program to see your current performance and disk health...GL

Well, it would be very helpful for you to provide the rest of your system specs in your profile. Problems usually exist in a system, so interaction with other parts is important.

Also, have you scanned with Seagate Tools, or Crystal Disk Info or other tools?

Since it shows up in Windows, even if to format, at least it CAN be scanned, because that means it hasn’t died.

Could be a sign of a failing drive. However, we need more information such as whether you have heard any odd noises with the drive such as clicking or scraping (which could indicate a read head issue). Perhaps you could fill in your profile with your system's specifications or list them as a reply then we can better tailor responses to your needs.

If you had nothing important on the drive to recover, I would just proceed to use a utility provided by the hard drive manufacturer (in this case, SeaTools) where you can check S.M.A.R.T. and run generic read tests. Perhaps someone who uses the utility the most can comment on which tests would be best in this case.

at the moment its anyones guess as to what it is

Failing Hard Drive
Check the Drive with the tools suggested above
Do not put any files you value on this Drive

Off the top of my head its probably going to show
Sector reallocation count to high =Failing Drive
But we Don't know until you run some Diagnostic Software

Ok, your SMART looks ok on a quick look on a phone, which is a little harder to see.

Have you tried putting the hdd in a different SATA part?

Have you tried a different SATA cable?

Did you install the motherboard chipset drivers on your pc?

OP, people are trying to help you but you ignore their questions and then you wonder why they get frustrated, you have been asked to provide your full system specs, you have not, you are not helping yourself therefore, as for me, I am grateful that you think I may be young, at 58 I am rarely called that anymore :D

Edit: from your screenshot it would appear that the drive is not failing, that's why it's important you tell us your specs.

Your HDD controller is busted so don't waste more time on it just throw it to trashcan or open it and take magnets+disc and trash other parts.

Hello,

if the problem is not the HDD (from your screenshot), then it might be the SATA cable or the SATA port on your motherboard.

Make sure everything is plugged fine and don't unplug it without closing your system (just to be sure...).

Edit;
Your HDD controller is busted so don't waste more time on it just throw it to trashcan or open it and take magnets+disc and trash other parts.
You mean, in the harddrive?

Else, if it's a recent PC, the SATA Controller is in the CPU so the chance of it being busted is pretty low.

Not sure why you bring up the subject of another thread, 57 is surprising as I am 58 although a year is better than nothing. All I ask of you is to listen to the advice given and help others to help you otherwise all will happen here is you will get more threads closed...…….. even my patience can fail me at times.

He did, he asked a question, I answered, seems you don't care to listen so as you have dragged this thread off topic this one is closed too.
