HD 2900 XT 1gb gddr4 weird++ graphical corruption

is that an already known issue, any attempt to access the video in will crash instantly?

I'm not quite following you. Could you quantify "access the video in" ?

found the exact culpret, bios setting PCI express downstream pipeline, when set to enabled caused 3d artifacts, when disabled caused 2d artifacts, when set to auto no artifacts... odd, but true. also when set to auto my t200 drivers load, and the 2 vivo drivers also load, but still crash on any attempt to use it, not sure why but hopefull, i hope that lesson helps someone else in the future with the same or a similar motherboard

blah, oops, well anyhow, what i mean is, ok if i load windows movie maker, or any media player and actually try to stream anything from it, that program stops responding and System [process] takes 100% of one of the cpu cores

Yeah i got the same thing on my P5K-E with Q6600 & HD2900pro
Crashes each time i try to use the video in...!
Glad someone else has this...

My biggest hassle is that it seriously screws my raid 0 setup each time it hangs in this way and I have ro repair it!

thats a really weird and crappy symptom :( what driver version [or any driver version?]

im on the latest cat driver from ati website....
Asus p5k-e
Q6600
HD2900pro

I basically wanted to take video off my DV cam... so i thought, great ill plug it in... then run windows movie maker.... hang!
So then I thought the driver must be screwed, i reinstalled it... tried again... even tried windows media encoder which also hung...

Each time it hangs in this way i have to pull the plug to reset as it just wont respond... this in turn breaks my raid 0 setup!!!

Ive given up... dfid a post a while back but no one knew so i figured id leave it and get a video card specially for taking video off cams ;)

hmm, might be a problem with "Realtek HD audio input" the drivers or something, when i turned off sound in media player classic it didnt crash, so im really thinking that might definatly be what it is.

interesting... as i have that realtek audio aswell as an M-Audio 1010 soundcard for my music production.. ill try disabling the onboard sometime and see if that makes a diff's... thing is i want to be sure or I lose a terrabyte of Raid 0 storage!

hehe

umm. might not wanna try that then cuz... well like i was able to get it to use a different audio in media player classic but in windows movie maker it totaly wouldnt and it crashed when i tried to cancle, arrg.

Just curious, if you have a DV cam why don't you run via Firewire? Better quality and most likely, faster. You just need a capture program. Google "free DV capture software".;)

used the wrong word, sorry ;)
Basically its a digital cam corder, but its only got USB on it... need to record in real time into the video in on the graphic card

i have one of those, but mine has firewire

oh and also my videocard came with free software for doing that hmm...
