Sent my hdd for data recovery, after 3 months of no contact with the store i got back my hdd. They claim to have recovered the data but when i browse my HDD it shows space used but no files inside. I have checked for hidden files but nothing.

Wondering if anyone can help with this.

Try Recuva free version. It restored accidentally deleted files for me.

In my experience with data recovery services, they don't send the recovered data back on the same drive you sent in(they assume that drive is failed and no safe to store data on).

271GB used, perhaps you are looking at the wrong partition.
