Okay so I've been using my DVI->VGA convertor on my pc forever now though I have two HDMI ports on my LCD tv/monitor. It works perfectly using that adapter but I'd like to use the HDMI adapter with my pc but I've been having problems.
I use HDMI just fine on my 360 up to 1920*1080i though I normally use it at 1280*720p as I like the look better. Anyway using the DVI->VGA adapter I can only go up to 1440*900 resolution so I hooked up the HDMI adapter instead and while I can select the full 1920*1080 resolution I can only select a refresh rate of 30Hz which is only half of what I need to select to get the correct picture.
Also I can select the same 1360*768 that my monitor uses natively (what I'd really like but with HDMI instead) but the display itself will still read that it's in 1920*1080i mode. The display reads that it's in 1920*1080i 60Hz mode when the computer reads it's in 1920*1080i 30Hz mode?
Does anybody know how I can get the correct refresh rate on my display so that I can actually use the correct resolutions with my HDMI cable?
