HDMI issues with Asus VS247H and catalyst 12.10

I've gotten myself an Asus VS247H screen and wanted to connect it with my Sapphire HD5770. Now the problem is, that in windows i have the option to set the resolution to 1920x1080 however that hardly matters.
In the catalyst control center I only get the option to set the resolution to 1680x1050 though. I could select 1080p in the HDTV settings but that leaves a black border around the screen that's roughly an inch wide (and by that i don't mean the frame :P)

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Set it to 1080p in the HDTV settings. Get the black border. Use the scaling option in the CCC. Sliding it all the way to the right. That should get rid of the black border.
