Hi guys,

I am having an issue with turning on HDR from windows display settings.

I have recently just upgraded to Windows 11 and have noticed that HDR is completely greyed out and it just says that it isn't supported but it is! It worked on Windows 10 just fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to sort this out?

Make/model of monitor?

and have you tried installing any sort of drivers related to said make and model of monitor?

If not it could be just a w11 problem

32" UltraGear GP850 1440p 180Hz IPS-NANO.

I updated to the latest Radeon drivers but that didn't fix it. I Guess maybe it is a windows 11 issue I would say.. pity.

Do you have a second monitor enabled? HDR isnt possible in Eyefinity setups but dont know about dual screen setups

HDR works fine on multi screen setups. Although in my case I have one HDR and one non HDR display in extended configuration, and I can enable HDR for that one monitor just fine. I'm on Windows 10 though.

I have just the 1 monitor is all

Hi,
Use the actual monitor settings buttons to see if you can turn on hdr
I personally disable it, hell all it does is the same thing as gaming mode does it just exaggerates colors.

Hi,

I tried that but there isn't any option to turn it on. It just shows OFF. It shows me what is active and it shows 180 hz, Freesync response time and motion blur reduction.
Sadly no option to turn it on or off!

I checked reviews and it does show that HDR has a slight improvement with this monitor but nothing special or mind blowing. But it's enough for me to want to give it a shot and see for myself!

Okay, for those still searching for a method to implement hdr on the 6000 series gpu I figured it out after hours of trying and finding nothing.
Done everything down to switching to pro drivers...it worked then disappeared.
So, it seems it was unnecessary to change drivers now.
The one thing that worked...and it will sound stupid, turn OFF 10-Bit Pixel Format.
Vuala...that is all and I want to . Hours for that.

Also, just enable 10 bit color by using 10bpc

It does. Afterwards I googled the 10-bit pixel format and it seems that I could easily find the answer from that, but not from googling the problem‍
