Hellgate: London, anyone going to buy?

so, is it really bad games?
i just about to buy, its NICE DEMO on NET

Well i love it, i have a few friends who are also playing it. I never played D2, so for me this is a cross between Doom 3 and WOW, customizations and online like WOW, but the demon FPS (can also be third person) like Doom 3. It is more of a linear game, but still amazing. For the first ten levels or so it is semi repetitive, but from what my one friend said is that the game truly shines after lvl 15. Im at lvl 7 right now and more or less addicted. The FPS aspect does have its flaws imo, like limited range and no bullet holes/marks on the walls. Other than that, this game is well worth it.

It is very much like Diablo 2. There are so many similarities...i'm not gonna list em all for space's sake. But it is an amazing game. I can now play online, because before i kept getting an error, but thats fixed. Like Tomcat up there said, It is like WoW a little bit. But for the most part, its basically a First-Person Diablo 2. There are some flaws, like no bullet holes in the walls and stuff like that. yeah, me and Tomcat went and got it yesterday...its so much fun! Im a lvl 8 on single player and a lvl 6 on multi player. Tis fun tho, and if you like Diablo, you will like this game....most likely...

It is quite fun!

I still don't see the enjoyment in it...unless I missed something which I hope I did - I was really hoping for this game to be a hit with me.

I bought the game, it's really different and feels like a 3d Diablo 2 to be honest. It's definitely worth checking out.

and it is an MMO.

Then they succeeded, as that is what they said it was going to be like :)

I loaded it up last night and played for a couple of hours.
I think it's great, but I can see that people who are more geared toward pure shooters would not like it.
If you like the way many RPG's play with tons of item drops and having to always be managing inventory (which I happen to like), you will definitely enjoy this game.

At low levels it is relatively easy (as was the demo), but I think (hope) as you progress things will get a bit more difficult. I picked the engineer class and nothing is even getting close to me with my trusty little drone running cover for me.

"There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't."

- - - - 1 0 = binary
16 8 4 2 1
- - - - 2+0 = 2 kinds of people

:toast:

what level are you now? i found it started getting harder in act 3. there were some quests i couldn't finish without the help of my friend.

That's good to know !

Since I just started and only played for about two hours, I think I am level 4 or 5.
I got about as far as you can go in the demo.
Taking my time checking out everything, and trying new stuff with the engineer class, not to mention the time spent doing inventory management :)

i'm enjoying hellgate london but i am not sure if i am actually going to buy it, hint hint

yea, i'm a lvl 22 engineer.

engineer is the best.

That is, of course, your opinion,

The devs mentioned in several articles that they view the Engineer as the easiest, most accessible class in the game to play. In my opinion, it was the only fun class as well. Bladesman/melee was poorly implemented, grenades are totally wonky, inventory is beyond poor in it's design and implementation.

I think the game is fun for a few hours, but I doubt it has the staying power as D2.

What I really dislike most about it the absolute lack of innovation. As everyone says: Diablo2 in 3D....I wish someone would raise the bar in game design.

i got the game. as a D2 lover this is a lot of fun. i like the hack and slash and the random loot system. but the game has horrible bugs that affects gameplay. but flagship studios have been good at releasing patches to fix some bugs.

What kind of bugs are you seeing, Sky?
I have not played for very long (only level 6 or so now), but I have not seen any yet.
