Hello I need some help with my laptop I'm currently thinking to upgrade my Asus x551ma processor and ram but I don't know what you would recommend as it's 1.86 GHz but im also wondering if it has a soldered cpu.

Why do you think it needs an upgrade? What do you do on it that you require more power to complete your task?

Well I play games on it which they ain't high end games at all but yeah mostly I play games on it like Minecraft and trove and some other games but the reason why I wanted to make it a little more powerful is because you can notice in game that I drop frames quite a lot and it's becoming a little slower opening things as well but I don't have many things installed on it but yeah hope this is the required information you need :)

Its a toss-able unit, the CPU is BGA. Only thing you could do is put a low profile heatsink on it and overclock it to id say 2.0-2.2GHz with appropriate software (probably BIOS limited). You could probably upgrade the Ram and max it out. But a OS that is not kept optimized can be what causes everything to run at a crawl at times.

CPU is BGA which means its Soldered to motherboard
Not user upgrade able
max ram installable is 4 gig if you have less you may upgrade to 4 gig
your hard Drive is a 5400rpm Spinner which you "could swap out and upgrade to a SSD which may help performance Some ( But at a price )

Your Best way of up grading is to Sell entire lap top and put the proceeds towards a Newer laptop ( probably not the news you wanted to hear )

link to that laptop spec

They aren't meant to be worked on. If you take it apart it may not work at all when your done
