Can someone more knowledgable than me please help me find the clock generator for my motherboard as im struggling.

My motherboad is a ASRock ALIVESATA2-GLAN AM2 board (VIA K8T890CF).

I have read about having a look on the baord itself which i can, but there is loads of little ics and i dont know which one im meant to be looking at.

Anyone that could point out where it might be above would be a great help!

Many Thanks.

do you mean the massive via chip?

pry the socketed one

That one reads the mobo name and then P1.70.11B.

I thought i was looking for a number like ic98273.

the small metal thingy on the left contains the quarz crystal i believe, so that should be the generator chip.

Thatnks for your help, my chip is a winbond but unfortunately i cannot get it to play ball in clockygen or systool.

Any help you might be able to shed on this would be greatly appreciated!
