Here is my problem
I installed a ATI Sapphire Radeion x800gto on in my system.
It is stock with no OC. temps are around 40c. all system temps including cpu are fine.
I am getting alot (at least 2 every 5 minutes)of total computer lock ups.
I had an ATI x1600 Pro that was running fine in this machine.
My system is a
2600+ Amd athlon xp
2 x 512 sticks of ddr ram
motherboard is a MSI K7N2-L
Harddrive Seagate 160 gig ata
Soundblaster Audigy 2
PSU is a Allied AL-B500E 500w

I have tried total uninstall of all drivers. nada
Bios settings are 8x; AGP Aperature Size, 64M or 128m does not make a difference.
Any help please ?

AGP aperature only saves system memory for graphics, so that wont matter.

i had a similar problem went swopping my X1600PRO to my 6800LE, the only way i found to solve this was a reformat and a fresh install.

also get a volt meter on you PSU to make sure that there is enough power (400watts should be enuff for that) for the whole system and make sure that the 12volt rail is output at less 12volts, overwise if you dont have enuff power your system will just halt.

plus i also have never found a PSU that will actually do the rating it says on the box, the ratings are meant to be a MAX POWER rating guide, not actual. my PSU is rated at 550w but only pulls 450ish.

im running mine on a 350:laugh:
