I just purchased a new ssd and wanted to download win 7 to it. When I do or try to I keep getting reboot and select the proper you know the deal. So I need some assistance in what do and yes I did already put the DVD drive as the 1st boot option.
Here are some of my computers specs

Corsair 4 gigs ram
Radeon 7770 graphics card
I5 processor
Samsung 830 ssd
Cx500 power

Disconnect all other HDDs from the motherboard before you install windows. If you don't Windows will put the cache partition and other goodies on a drive you don't want them on. That in itself may solve your issues. Also, make sure it's plugged into one of the gray Intel SATA III ports.

I don't see the grey intel data port I'm trying to upload a photo but the ones my iphone are taking are too large

On your motherboard it is the white ports.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with your BIOS layout.
Try plugging in just the DVD drive into one of the blue ports which I assume you already ave done.
The motherboard then only has the DVD drive to locate and should automatically boot from it instead of immediately coming up with response you are getting.

If that all goes well, then it's going back to the BIOS and see what you have missed out.

I got the same message. Also before this I got another message on my computer about my computer needed the windows recovery disk that came with my computer that was when I had my original set up. All I did was take out the hdd and put in a ssd.

Try with ssd disconected and hdd on , to see if win setup starts .
Are you sure that you use o bootable win7 dvd ?

Windows failed to start a recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
Insert windows installation disc-
Blah blah blah
Click repair computer

File /boot/bcd

An error occurred while trying to read the boot configuration data

Make sure you have removed hard drives and SSD.

Only have the DVD attqached.
Windows will not ask for a recovery disk unless there is an error with a detected operating system.

There is no installed operating system on a DVD drive with a Windows 7 disk in it.

We want to see if your motherboard can boot off the dvd drive.
After this you can attach the SSD to the white SATA port.

Also you may be able to force boot from the DVD drive by pressing F10 during the BIOS screen.

I'd try resetting the CMOS. To do this, take the round flat battery out of your motherboard for several minutes. Reinsert and give it another shot.

I think maybe that copy of win have problems .
You should try another version , for example Enterprise seems to be good .

reset CMOS, use kill disk, only have the SSD installed when installing windows

What is a kill disk

its a HD wipe program which has saved my butt many times especially when there are different than Windows OS installed on a drive etc

You didn't explain your problem very well, I don't know if your problem is not being able to boot from the DVD or that Win 7 can't find your SSD.

Is this a disk you burned yourself or is it a factory Win 7 disk? If you burned it, did you burn it with the DVD drive in the machine you're trying to install Windows on?
