Help im connecting 360 to laptop!!!!

I meant video bandwidth across your connections.

Aye i see what you meant now . That can be a real booger in the but that you cant get out:eek::eek::eek:

Is there anyway to increase this bandwidth without any new cables?

No. New cables probably won't help. The only thing I can think of is a better tuner. One that you know for sure works on the PCIe lanes in your Express Card slot. Still then, some latency may still occur.

i would assume since tv shows play at what like 24 FPS and most games play from 30-60 i mean that tuner card probably cant take it i mean like you said its sorta off and by how much? maybe just those 6 frames? there made to handle 24fps not 30 or 60 so it might be a long shot to even set it up like that

I had the same lag issue once. I hooked my Xbox up to my ATi tuner card and there was like a half second lag between what inputs i gave the controller and what I saw on the screen. Easier to just get the VGA adapter cable for the 360 and plug that into the D-Sub on the back of your laptop, shouldn't have any issues then and the picture quality will be much improved. It's just like plugging a projector into a laptop. Wont' have any issues with the computer having to recognize the stuff either.

Aww this really sucks!!!!

Now I will have to wait till next Friday to buy a $60 tube TV when I get my next paycheck (last Fridays paycheck all went to my car payments lol)

Oh well i guess I will have to just do some studying and schoolwork for college:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Do you think that since My laptop (not the tv tuner) has an HDMI port on it that if I were to directly connect the 360 through it that that might help out some of the latency maybe?

Also serioiusly does anyone have an answer for that last pic i posted with it saying that I am not runnin my 360 through Windows Media Center? Is there another way to connect my 360 perhaps:eek::eek::eek:

framerates are fine its just the reaction i get from my controller commands being too late that I have a problem with

btw lopez how much does this vga adapter cost me is there only 1 kind I can get (i.e the official Microsoft approved wires) or can I get an adapter from other companies>

you can get one at target for like 15 bucks ;) or the offical m$ one for 40

I think I may check out Wal Mart first (Target doesnt like fundraisers outside its stores i.e they don't let their customers help to support the United way like Wal Mart and Publix does (Publix doesnt allow fundraisers in front of its stores but it sure as hell has donation centers inside plus its employees (including myself) are rather generous with giving to the United Way)

Sorry didnt mean to go ona rant there:o

Either kind you get, it's cheaper and better than getting a shitty old school TV.

IDK I can get a 20 incher for about $60 if you look in the right places (thats 3 inches bigger than my Laptops)

dude does it really matter i mean it cost 15 dollars for a nyko vga adapter for the 360 if it cost that much i'd get it i bought the m$ one before this came out for 40

Yeah but one like that the glass screen is probably rounded, susceptible to insane amounts of glare and it's a much lower resolution than your laptop monitor. I'd prefer to hook a 360, if I had one, up to my 19" LCD than my 32" SDTV.

Good points but its not rounded and it is flat (its my neighbors tv since she said she wouldn't mind selling it to mee for around the vicinity of $80.

Also right now I cant get it to show the screen up when I change the cord from SDTV to HDTV the scree just gos blank so yeah Houiston we have a problem:banghead::banghead:

Well you have to have it plugged in via the component cables rather than the RCA ones for it to work being set to "HDTV".

good point lol I forgot about those other 3 wires:banghead::banghead::laugh::laugh::laugh:

You guys are overlooking one thing, the vga port on the computer is an output, not an input. You can't put a signal into it, as far as I know.

As far as the media center part, that's for networking. Like streaming videos and music and stuff from your pc, to play on your 360. You have to hook it up thru the network for that to work, but since you're trying to play 360 thru a laptop screen, there's not much use to that, you can just play the video on your laptop.

Considering that Lopez had the issue, even with an internal tuner, your best bet is a cheap TV, like you said. Or even better, save for an HDTV, if you have the patience.

if your laptop have S-Video or HD video input (via dongle) maybe you can just do that it should be better...

we shall see but i don't have the patience to wait to buy an HDTV (I will be buying one soon maybe even before the end of the year though) I gotta finish that campaign ASAP cause its ruining my life :cry::cry:

Also S-video is not better than component last I checked joinmeindeath:shadedshu:shadedshu:shadedshu

You are correct. In order of quality from lowest to highest on 360, it goes Composite(standard rca)--> S-video--> Component --> VGA--> HDMI (if so equipped)

um..where did i say it was better?

and i was just asking if you had a s-video input on the laptop cause some do so you can get better response time vs that tuner card you have...please don't assume that i said something i didn't

i know s video is shittier than component.

My bad joinmeindeath

And my laptop does have an s-video and I think a vga plug too though i cant confirm it.

I will post some pics of the connections on the laptop along with what kind of connection my tv tuner uses Wil E.

I will post these pics sometime tonight right now I gotta go to the second part of my chemistry class in an hour for LAB
