Having some trouble here for an Athlon 64 X2 rig. My parents want me to build them a new computer (and they really need it). They have a gigantic computer desk and a tower rack that hangs from beneath part of it, and only an mATX tower fits. They don't need anything fancy. Onboard video should suffice. Currently I'm aiming for a 3800+, and I don't plan to overclock, but I'd like to get reasonable OC results if they feel they need a little more. Dad's getting into Photoshop after his trip to Italy with his new camera.

None of these boards have impressive reviews (not that you should take them seriously). I need some trustworthy input now.

-Abit AN-M2
-BIOSTAR TA690G
-Asus M2A-VM
-Asus M2A-VM HDMI

No 690V. Would like 690G or 7025+, and the power connector needs to be on the RAM slot side. I don't want to have the power cord going across the motherboard. This will likely be going into a Centurion 541 with the motherboard being mounted upside-down.

I don't trust the less popular brands. Jetway, ECS, etc. Foxconn...maybe.

I wasn't really asking for new suggestions. Would like input on the boards I listed.

i trust biostar, not as feature packed as maybe an asus, but biostar boards are cheap, colorful, solid, and well layed out. if i may suggest the biostar TF7050-m2 on newegg? comes with hdmi and the nvidia geforce 7050 that's on board will be a great onboard video card.
