Help me find a good laptop!

So I got the money to finally get a decent laptop. But I'm pretty picky, therefore, giving me a hard time to choose. The HP Envy 15 is on the top of my list, but the lack of disc drive SERIOUSLY makes me hesitate :I.

The laptop must have:
-Core i7 Mobile Processor
-1080p Resolution
-Screen between 15" and 16.4"

Having Windows 7 and BluRay Drive are a Plus. And all must be $2000 USD or under. Thanks in advance .

Asus G51J-A1 might be your best bet but low battery by the gpu, around 2 hours

having a budget of 700 might have been a challenge, or even 1000 or so.

You would have to be very simple to have a hard time with 2k.

an easier question would be what couldnt you get for 2000.

GL in your search, and i vouch for post #2. Dont get too excited, corei7mobile still do not exceed e8xxx series desktop procs.

18.4" is wayyyyy too big. I've taken a look at them in best buy. Not the type of thing I want to be carrying around frequently Dx.

It has everything you listed i believed,it has core i7,1TB HD,GTX260,Blu-ray drive,4GB ram and its 16 inch apart from it don't have 1080p i don't think i can't remember.

Well than that is it, and i never said buy from newegg, goto bestbuy around the corner or asus shop something
Mine is slower than that, its a g71gx but it can play crysis warhead at max settings on 1024x1280 with 0AA so this would easily play it on 1080p max out without AA on

But battery is still a huge problem, its 2 hours max idle and gaming only 30mins so its not take anywhere or journey laptop, you will need recharge every time.
Mine is always hooked up to ac adapter without battery everyday havent used battery in 2 months
