Help me find a GPU Riser... all I can find are mining ones... or are they same?

Some PC cases advertise GPU sitting vertical, well my Thermaltake View 22 case has a PSU shroud, and I think mine would sit vertical, I am curious though because everytime I find a riser, it says for mining.... please advise where I can find one for my 1080 ti and gaming, thanks.

All risers are not the same, most of the cheap ones like the one you posted are only PCI-E x1. This is fine for mining, because mining doesn't really rely on PCI-E bandwidth, but has a noticeable impact on gaming performance.

Same thing honestly. The important thing is the quality of the riser, not the role advertised.

Thanks mates. I see now. I was wondering, something seemed off.

Will I notice a performance hit if I do this? Because of the extra latency because of distance traveled from that sleeve thingy to the actual slot? eeeek, I am afraid to mess with it, I just think it would look neat, and since I have the PSU shroud anyway, might as well try it.

No, you shouldn't notice a performance hit as long as you get an x16 link.

Yes, about 1-5% depending on riser quality in my experience.

3M makes the best but your wallet will cry.

This one by Cooler Master takes up all 7 slots and allows the use of a double slot card in the vertical position.
I have one and it looks great.
