Hey.. I've just registered a domain name with 123-reg.. added a DNS A record for ftp to point to my public IP. MXToolbox shows it has updated. I've installed filezilla server on my PC, set it to listen on port 21. I've forwarded the port on my router to my PCs IP address... What else do I need to do to use ftp.domainname.com in windows explorer to connect?

thanks for your help :)

You will need to forward port 21 in the router from your public ip to the local ip that the ftp server has. Normally you should set static ip on the ftp server. Everything else looks ok.

Thanks for the advice, got that. Needed a user setup on Filezilla.

Use filezilla client and connect using the user profile you made. Alot better than connecting thru a basic ftp web page
